Born on March 29, 1952, in Lagos, Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu came from humble beginnings. He spent his early years in the southwestern region of Nigeria before emigrating to the United States for higher education. He attended Richard J. Daley College in Chicago, Illinois, and subsequently transferred to Chicago State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Accounting) with honors in 1979.
After graduating, Tinubu worked for several American companies, including Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, and GTE Services Corporation. His financial acumen and business expertise were evident during his tenure at these prestigious firms. Upon returning to Nigeria in the 1980s, he joined Mobil Oil Nigeria, where he rose to become an executive.
Tinubu's political journey began during Nigeria's Third Republic when he was elected as a Senator representing Lagos West Constituency in 1992. However, his senatorial career was cut short following the military coup led by General Sani Abacha in 1993.
During Nigeria's military regime, Tinubu became a prominent pro-democracy activist. He was forced into exile in 1994, where he became a key figure in the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), working tirelessly to restore democratic governance in Nigeria.
Following Nigeria's return to democracy, Tinubu was elected as the Governor of Lagos State, serving two terms from 1999 to 2007. His governorship was marked by several significant achievements:
Tinubu won the APC presidential primary in June 2022 and subsequently emerged victorious in the February 2023 presidential election. He was sworn in as Nigeria's 16th President on May 29, 2023.
Tinubu is married to Oluremi Tinubu, a former First Lady of Lagos State and Senator. He is known for his extensive political network and is often referred to by the nickname "Jagaban" or "The City Boy." His political acumen has earned him the title "Master Strategist" among supporters.
Tinubu's rise to the presidency represents a significant moment in Nigerian political history, marking the continuation of democratic governance and civilian-to-civilian power transition in Africa's most populous nation.
As a charitable organisation born out of the necessity to foster and strengthen the bonds among locals and Nigerians in particular living in the borough, community spirit and the desire to understand and appreciates each others fallibles is paramount in our thinking. This platform called the internet has bridged the gap that existed hitherto in publishing between the have and the have-not. It is our intention to leverage it to the fullest.

Resulting in action been taken by the relevant bodies.Those in power local or national are there to serve us. If we are not happy with their services or performance it is within our remit to kick them out and get someone else willing to do what the people want - is called a Democracy
